Wednesday, April 08, 2020
Today, Mayor Rob Burton and Oakville Fire Deputy Chief Andy Glynn delivered 12,000 face masks to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on behalf of Oakville’s sister city, Huai’an, China.
The donation came directly from Huai’an’s Mayor Chen Zhinchang who sent the masks to Oakville to be used by frontline healthcare workers at the hospital.
“Mayor Chen Zhinchang is a great friend of Oakville’s and we are grateful for this donation of much needed personal protective equipment as we fight the coronavirus,” said Mayor Burton.
The Town of Oakville established the sister city relationship with Huai’an, China in 2015 in an effort to promote international understanding, economic cooperation and friendship.
