What is open data?
To support our commitment to open, transparent and accountable government, the town's data is available to the public as open data. Open data is information that is available in a format that can be read by a computer, and is made available for anyone to use, transform or republish without restriction.
We will not release personal or confidential information or provide ways to identify individuals as part of our public datasets. We have released over 85 datasets and are always looking for ways to provide more data to the public.
Individuals most likely to use the town’s open data include:
- Professional and amateur software developers who build new applications to solve existing problems
- Academics and researchers, the media and the public to inform studies and analyses
