Mission
We create and preserve Canada's most livable community that enhances the natural, cultural, social and economic environments. We achieve this by continuously improving programs and services that are accessible and environmentally and fiscally sustainable.
We are valued and celebrated due to the innovative and outstanding way we satisfy the needs of our residents, businesses and employees. As a result, the process is as fulfilling as the outcome.
We ensure our staff receives the same level of respect, commitment and care that they are expected to deliver to the community.

Information Oakville
Information Oakville is a community information service provided by Oakville Public Library. This online service provides links to Halton Community Service Database, an event calendar and to a wide range of local organizations and resources for newcomers and specific groups of the population.
Newcomers information
Moving to a new country offers many opportunities and new beginnings. The Government of Canada provides information on what to expect in the first few days and weeks; how to find a place to live, apply for a Social Insurance Number and a Health Card, find a job; and provides links to various immigrant-serving organizations and much more.
