League types
Oakville Recreational Basketball League (ORBL) games are held between 7:30 and 11:30 p.m. in the gymnasium at Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre:
- Mondays – Men’s Recreational Basketball
- Wednesdays – Men’s Advanced Basketball
- Thursdays – Men’s Recreational 35+ Basketball
- Sundays – Co-ed Recreational Basketball and Women's Recreational Basketball
ORBL Divisions
Recreational teams are players with knowledge and those looking to develop their skills with some game experience.
Advanced is for more experienced players with tournament experience.
Jerseys and referees
Basketball teams require matching jerseys with different numbers. If you register as a team but do not have matching jerseys, the league will provide jerseys for an extra fee of $18.50 (plus tax) per person.
Two referees will officiate the basketball games.
Oakville Recreational Dodgeball League (ORDL) games are on Thursday evenings between 7:30 and 11:30 p.m. at Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre.
ORDL Divisions
Co-ed recreational teams are for players with knowledge of the sport who want to relive their favourite childhood game. Be prepared to dip, dodge, duck, dive and dodge in this fun and social league!
The Oakville Recreational Hockey League (ORHL) operates out of Sixteen Mile Sports Complex. Games will start between 7:30 and 10:30 p.m., depending on registration numbers. Different divisions play on different nights:
- Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays – Recreational
- Tuesdays – Developmental, Women's Recreation/Intermediate and Women's Competitive
- Wednesdays – Hall of Fame
- Thursdays – Intermediate and 35+ Intermediate
ORHL Divisions
- 35+ Intermediate is for players 35 years and older, who have played hockey at a competitive level in the past.
- Developmental is suitable for players that are brand new to hockey or just looking to get back on their skates in a low competitive hockey league where participation and skill development are emphasized. Team registration is not available for this level.
- Hall of Fame is geared toward players ages 40+ looking to stay fit, active and play against players with similar skill.
- Recreational is for players with hockey experience who haven't played at a high level in the past, comparable to most other D/E level hockey leagues in the GTA.
- Women’s Competitive is a competitive level and players are looking to have fun while playing against women with similar skills. This division can be tiered based on registration.
- Women’s Daytime games are fun and competitive for those at the recreational/intermediate level.
- Women’s Recreational/ Intermediate division is for women who are looking for a low-competitive environment. Fair play and fun are emphasized. The division will be tiered based on team registrations.
- Co-ed teams (ages 18+) will play with specific rules suited for a fun safe environment.
Getting registered
Teams (with a minimum of 15/maximum of 19 players, plus a goalie) should email orhl@oakville.ca to register.

Schedules, referees and jerseys
All ORHL leagues run with certified referees and offer 12-24 guaranteed games (depending on the night and season), including playoffs. Check your registration confirmation carefully for exclusion dates.
All teams require matching jerseys with different numbers. If you register as a team but do not have matching jerseys, the league will provide jerseys for an extra fee of $225 (tax included).

Our new Oakville Recreational Pickleball League (ORPL) for men’s and women’s Levels 3.0 and 3.5+ operates out of Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre.
Games are held between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays, and between 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Game start times will vary and your team will play one game (three regulation matches played to 11) each week.
ORPL skill levels
- Level 3.0 is for players with a consistent serve who are able to make all basic strokes and returns on medium-paced balls reliably (attempts lobs and dinks).
- Level 3.5+ is for players with consistent control and placement of medium-paced shots. You are able to return fast-paced shots with some success, demonstrate shot variety and anticipates opponent’s shots. Yan play aggressively at the non-volley zone, dink often and have dinking rallies. Learning the strategy of doubles play.
Officiating, skill level and substitutions
Games will be self-officiated and scores must be submitted to the timekeeper at the end of each game. A convener will be present during all games.
If you are unsure of your skill level, please attend one of the Oakville Skills Assessment clinics before signing up for the league.
A sub player list will be available for fill-in players who are not registered in the league. All subs will be emailed if a fill-in player is required and spaces will be allocated first-come, first-serve.
Oakville Recreational Volleyball League (ORVL) games are held between 7:30 and 11:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre.
ORVL Divisions
- Recreational teams are new players with basic knowledge and those looking to develop their skills
- Intermediate players have consistent volleyball skills and some game play experience
- Advanced is for more experienced players with tournament experience
Spaces are limited. Divisions may be combined depending on the number of registrations.
Officiating and time keeping
A convener and timekeeper will be available to assist in officiating if required.

Team and individual registrations will be allowed for most leagues. Individual registrations are not guaranteed and need to be confirmed by the league office.
Pickleball players can register as individuals only. Partners must both register to be put on a team together.
All prices include HST and an additional $11.30 non-resident fee applies to individual registrations for participants that do not live in Oakville. Payment plans are also available and can be discussed upon registration.
